Autumn is the best time of year to see spiders, owls, fungi and all things spooky as the harvest season and cool weather brings out these creatures in search of food. The wetland centre grounds are host to hundreds of different spider species, including the Wasp Spider, Crab Spider, Giant House Spider, Garden Spider and the Daddy Long Legs Spider. The Wasp Spider is a particularly interesting species on the wetlands, as the female spider is much larger than the male spider, and during mating the male is often eaten.

Groups of 10 or more children should book in advance, please call 020 8409 4419 to reserve a group booking.

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
