launch of bus service at Burscough BridgeThe West of Lancashire Community Rail Partnership is pleased to announce Duck Link, a dedicated bus service to Martin Mere Wetland Centre during the BBC AutumnWatch programme.

Last year, this event bought many thousands to Martin Mere. To provide an environmentally friendly way to travel to Martin Mere, the Partnership is sponsoring this bus service to meet every train at Burscough Bridge Interchange on the Southport - Manchester route to take visitors directly to Martin Mere. The bus will run from November 5th to November 18th every half-hour between 10.25 a.m. and 4.40 p.m. (hourly on Sundays).

With very attractive return bus fares (£1 adult, accompanied children free or 50p unaccompanied children), we believe this provides a real choice for anyone who cares for our environment - or simply just a better way of enjoying a day out without the hassle of driving and parking.

Launch of duck linkTrains on the Southport to Manchester line run twice an hour Monday to Saturday, and hourly on Sundays. There are good connections from the Merseyrail electric trains at Southport to Burscough Bridge.

The Partnership is dedicated to promoting and improving local rail services. It is supported by Lancashire County Council, Northern Rail, the Passenger Transport Executives of Greater Manchester and Merseyside, local councils at Wigan, Sefton and West Lancashire, and the local rail user group OPSTA.
