Crane lands at Martin Mere

A common crane was seen at Martin Mere yesterday and it is still on site today.  I got all excited at first as I was really hoping that it was one of the cranes that we released down south but unfortunately it doesn’t have a ring number on it so it isn’t one that we reared.

It is still a fantastic sight to see a wild crane and it is only the third time we have had a crane on the reserve in the last 35 years as there are so few in the country.  If you get a chance it is certainly worth thinking about coming over here this week to see if it is still around.
