Bank holiday success

I was on holiday for most of the bank holiday but I am pleased to say that we had a fantastic few days with over 3300 visitors. Everyone really seemed to enjoy the reptiles and the birds of prey and I have had some lovely emails as well as posts on twitter.  It is always great to get feedback from events and to hear great comments, esepcially after such a wet Easter holiday.

The play area construction is well underway now and there are some pictures on the following link: http://www.wwt.org.uk/visit-us/martin-mere/things-to-see-and-do/development-updates/

We are still on course for the 2 June to open the play area and it is certainly an exciting time. We have done very well for membership lately and I think a lot of it is because of what you can now see in the play area as it makes sense to visit us again in a few weeks when we will be opening it.

It was great to see the reptiles again, with dedicated individuals on hand to answer questions from the public. Brought back memories of when I was involved with the NW Herpetological Society…happy days. Currently babysitting a Western Hognose snake; yet another reminder of good days gone by! Looking forward to more of the same. What can I say, bird watching, walks and reptiles. It is my Nirvana.
