Last night representatives from WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre attended the Carmarthenshire Tourism Awards at the Stradey Park Hotel in Llanelli, and were presented with a bronze award in the “Visitor Experience of the Year” category.

Over one hundred and twenty of the county’s tourism and hospitality businesses entered this year’s Carmarthenshire Tourism Awards – a record number for these awards, now in their third year. Organised by the Carmarthenshire Tourist Association (CTA) in partnership with the Carmarthen Journal and Llanelli Star – these prestigious awards are held to highlight the importance of the tourism industry to the county, and to recognise and reward the many quality businesses operating within it.

Nia Ball, Chief Executive of the CTA explains, “We’re very pleased to have received such a large number of entries and more importantly, entries from such high quality businesses. The judges tasked with shortlisting had a really challenging task, but a really enjoyable one too – as it gave the opportunity to have a further insight into the great products and services on offer to visitors to our county, and of course those of us who live here. Our congratulations go out to all of those who entered - and in particular to those shortlisted.”
