Artists inspired by Nature

Castle Espie Gallery, nature through art, will be opening the doors on Saturday 1 February OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

at 2pm to an inspiring mixed exhibition of art works by Irish artists.

The theme of the exhibition was to capture the surrounding nature using various mediums. The ‘Nature through Art Exhibition' features art works from a collective of Irish artists including Ellen Cunningham, Lauren Osborne, Lyn Majury, Susie Hewitt, Katherine Geoghegan to name but a few.

Irish Landscape artist, Katherine Geoghegan said, “My paintings are made using organic material in the process - wild grasses, leaves and flowers collected during the early morning walk. My relationship with nature & habitat informs the work and I am delighted to be exhibiting at the art gallery at Castle Espie Wetland Centre.”

Castle Espie Marketing and Communications Manager, Maeve Curran highlighted, “One of the aims of the gallery is to encourage fresh talent and new work to come forward. To this end the Gallery put out a call for submissions on the theme of “Nature through Art” and were delighted with the response not only from local artists in the region but also as far down as Co Kildare.” Maeve went onto say, “This is the third year we have held the open call exhibition and It is a delight to see such wonderful pieces of work with such a variety of styles celebrating the glorious nature surrounding us”.

The ‘Nature through Art’ Exhibition will run until Sunday 9 March 2014 and is free of charge.
