Egg-citing Easter at Martin Mere

IMG_2725Experience a duck-themed Easter holiday (from Saturday 5th to Monday 21st April) and an exciting Easter Sunday duck race at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre.

Every day during the holidays between 1pm and 4pm there will be duck themed family crafts: paint a rubber duck ready for the duck race and design a paper-plate-pond. Go on a giant duck hunt in search of colourful named rubber ducks along the nature trail and in the grounds – with a prize awarded to everyone who takes part.

You can come along and cheer on the rubber ducks as they make their way across the pond for the duck race at 3pm on Easter Sunday (20th April).

Also this Easter holiday the award winning canoe safari and guided boat tours will re-open as well as the water-play in the adventure play area.

There’s a series of talks everyday: at 11.30am and 2.30pm meet our family of otters with otter talks and feeds; at 12.45pm listen to fascinating flamingo facts; and drop in to the beaver lodge between 2pm and 2.30pm to learn all about these mammals.

WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre is a haven for a host of creatures such as otters, flamingos, beavers, kingfishers, geese and swans. Watch birds from the shelter of our comfortable hides, enjoy an expert walk or talk, or simply watch the world go by in our café overlooking our waterfowl collection – there’s plenty to do at a Wetland Centre all year round.
