Fresher

Over night rain followed by much fresher conditions of late. A few new waders apparent with counts including 200+ Lapwing, 57 Black-tailed Godwit, 16 Ruff, 5 Dunlin, 3 Common Snipe, 2 Redshank,  Green Sandpiper and Common Sandpiper.

A Kittiwake was present early on, plenty of confusing brown juvenile Black-headed Gulls present, a few Common Gull and many Lesser Black-backed Gulls passing through.

Kestrels are unmissable at the moment with a number of juvenile birds spending time hunting over the recently cut plover field. One spent some time playing with a live vole(?) on top of a green plastic coated hay bale.  Other raptors included Marsh Harrier (juv), 3 Common Buzzard and Sparrowhawk. Barn Owl present near the Harrier Hide.

Kingfisher again from the Ron Barker Hide.
