Greenshank

More signs of waders on the move today, with 2 Greenshank new in along with 10 Dunlin which joined the Ruff flock which today numbered 31 birds. Several Common Snipe are being seen each day at the moment and as the autumn progresses the numbers can build up to a few hundred birds.

Yellow Wagtails are regular from Ron Barker hide at the moment and today was no exception with 4 juvenile birds being seen among the many Pied Wagtails. A good day for Kingfishers with at least 3 birds on and off during the day. The usual 2-3 Marsh Harriers were seen as well as 6+ Kestrel and Common Buzzard.

Lots of juvenile Tree Sparrows around on the feeding stations as well as many Greenfinch, Chaffinch and Goldfinches.

There are now 3 Southern Hawkers near the exit gate, one of the nicest UK Dragonflies
