Wood Sandpipers & Hobby

Another good day on site for raptors and waders, 2 Wood Sandpipers were found mid afternoon from Ron Barker hide, also from here today were a juvenile Little ringed Plover and 2 Redshank (ad + juv) in the morning along with 30 Ruff which were later feeding in fields to the right of the hide with 400 Lapwing.

A Hobby was seen from here in the afternoon and at least 6 Marsh harrier were present on site today, the 2nd or 3rd cal year bird and 5 juveniles. A juvenile Peregrine was also in the area again as well as 4+ Kestrel, Sparrowhawk and 4+ Buzzard.

Two Southern Hawker Dragonflies can still be seen hawking along the path near the In Focus shop and near the exit gates. Also Black tailed Skimmers, Emperor Dragonfly and Common Darters can be seen at the moment.

Stoats and Brown Hares can be seen around the reserve at the moment with a bit of luck.
