Yellow Wagtails !

Some excellent birding on site at the moment, yesterday Tuesday 19th we had a possible record count of Yellow Wagtails, certainly a record in the last 10 years or so? At least 18 Yellow Wagtails were counted and all seemed to be juvenile birds, in recent days an adult male has also been seen so it's possible we could have over 20 birds in the area! Also at least 38 Pied Wagtails were counted along with at least 1 White Wagtail.

Also yesterday was an excellent day for raptors, with a Hobby being seen again and at one point in the afternoon there were 4 Marsh Harriers circling over the reserve with several Common Buzzard, a Sparrowhawk and a Peregrine all in view. Also the family of Kestrels continue to show well at times.
