Education taster sessions for teachers

WWT Arundel Wetland Centre is holding an Open Day for teachers on Sunday 5 October. Teachers must register in advance to visit the reserve for this tour and a preview of the education sessions on offer and receive a WWT goody bag.

“All our sessions promote learning outside the classroom for all ages and levels of students.” said Claire Drew, Learning Manager for Arundel Wetland Centre. The wetland centre offers 11 different courses that schools can mix and match for up to 4 hours of hands on learning during a visit. To attend the Teachers Open Day on Sun 5 Oct, please call Claire on 01903 881524 or email claire.drew@wwt.org.uk.

Since 1946, the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust has been inspiring generations; providing unique outdoor learning experiences for children, helping them to explore and make sense of our natural world. Since 1988 more than 140,000 students have visited WWT Arundel Wetland Centre for a nose-to-beak experience with nature.

WWT Arundel Wetland Centre welcomes school groups of all sizes, all year round. The centre offers guided learning sessions held outdoors, suitable for a range of ages and abilities, including special needs groups. Schools wishing to explore independently can do self guided visits. Student rates are available for home schooled families as well.

WWT Arundel also offers a Free School Visits Scheme, generously funded by HSBC. Schools are eligible to visit WWT Arundel for free providing they are state funded with 20% or more pupils on roll receiving free school meals. Our eligible schools list is based on free school meal data provided to us by the Department for Education.
