Greenshank

The Little Stint and 3 Curlew Sandpipers were still present today along with a single Dunlin, early evening 2 juvenile Greenshank appeared on the Mere and 54 Ruff were counted this evening.

Still lots of raptor activity with an adult and juvenile Peregrine keeping the Lapwings on their toes, also still 3-4 Marsh Harriers, 3+ Sparrowhawk, 8+ Common Buzzard including quite a pale bird especially on the wing coverts and underparts.

Good numbers of Pink footed Geese in the area with many more still to arrive, the first Whooper Swans should be with us in the next few weeks.
