Pectoral Sandpiper

Another good day on site with a new bird for the reserve year list, when a Pectoral Sandpiper was found this evening from Ron Barker Hide, hopefully it will stick around over the next few days. Other sightings included 5 Curlew Sandpiper, 1 Little Stint, 2 Dunlin, 8 Black tailed Godwit. A Green Sandpiper was on the Mere in the morning.

At least 4 Marsh Harriers were seen including a new bird with wing tags, a preliminary search on the internet seems to show this bird is probably a Scottish bird from Tayside? Hopefully this will be confirmed soon. Several Common Buzzard, 2 Sparrowhawk and the usual Kestrels are still around.
