Water Rail

The Water Rail is still showing from the Ron Barker Hide along with 1-2 Kingfisher. Still good numbers of raptors on site with 8+ Common Buzzard, 2 Marsh Harrier, Kestrel Sparrowhawk and Peregrine.

Lots of Wildfowl with at least 900 Whooper Swan, thousands of Pink-footed Geese roosting overnight and coming in and out during the day. Lots of  Wigeon, Pintail and Teal, smaller numbers of Pochard, Shoveler and Gadwall.

Large flocks of Lapwing with at least 900+ also 53 Ruff, 2 Black-tailed Godwit and small numbers of Common Snipe. A pair of Raven were seen today with other sightings including Grey Wagtail, Redpoll, Coal Tit and lots of Tree Sparrows and Goldfinch.
