Park & Ride to Arundel by Candlelight from Arundel Wetland Centre

On Sat 6 Dec, WWT Arundel Wetland Centre is opening its car park to town visitors to help ease parking congestion during the Arundel by Candlelight event. Between 1pm and 8:30pm the Arundel Chamber of Commerce will operate a Park & Ride system from the Arundel Wetland Centre car park,  located a half mile from the town centre. The 140 parking spaces at the wetland centre are normally reserved for visitors to the nature reserve only.

WWT Arundel Wetland Centre manager Dave Fairlamb said: “We are pleased to help the town by allowing more visitors to attend this exciting Christmas event safely and to allow our own WWT members a chance to visit us, then go to the event with ease.”

In the town of Arundel, the High Street and Tarrant Street will be closed to traffic from 7am to midnight. There will still be full access to the Mill Road and Lido car parks in Arundel which are free from 1pm onwards. Crown Yard car park will be closed on the day. Drivers are advised to arrive into town via the A27 on the eastern (Worthing/Brighton) side of Arundel to gain access to car parks. Organizers recommended visitors arrive by rail to avoid traffic congestion.
