WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre has been shortlisted for the Best Tourist Attraction Award in Carmarthenshire in the Swansea Bay Awards 2015, beating off competition from over 60 other attractions in the area to scoop a top three spot.

The annual Awards, now in its third year, is an event which recognises the amazing work of individuals and businesses throughout South West Wales.

Nigel Williams, Centre Manager said; “We are delighted to be shortlisted for this prestigious award. There are so many great places to visit in the area so to be recognised as a key tourist attraction is great news for me and all the staff who work so hard here at the centre. Hopefully making the Awards shortlist will raise awareness of the important conservation work we do here and will encourage more people to come along and see the great things we do.”

WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre offers spectacular days out for people of all ages and interests; from close encounters with birds, to breathtaking views of diverse wetland habitats and a full programme of events and activities, including canoe safaris and bike trails in the summer holidays. Other highlights include hand feeding birds from all over the world, watching the fabulous flock of Caribbean flamingos, discovering hidden treasures such as little egrets, kingfishers, dragonflies, butterflies and looking out for elusive water voles.

Winners will be announced at an awards dinner on October 1st at The Brangwyn Hall, Swansea.
