Recent sightings - 2 November
The following sightings were recorded by Toni Castello, warden.
Main lake – visible from Sensory garden and Visitor centre
Mallard +200, Black-headed gull 5, Tufted duck 25, Coot 2, Gadwall 1, Greylag goose 2.
Freshwater lagoon – visible from Brent Hide and Crannog
Mute swan 2 adults and 5 cygnets, Coot 2, Little grebe 1, Mallard 2.
Crannog
Goldfinch 2, Blue tit 1, Wren 1, Chaffinch 1.
Saline lagoon visible from Limekiln observatory
Little grebe 5.
Estuary – visible from Brent hide and Limekiln observatory
At 9:00, in low tide: Light-bellied brent geese +8.000, Oystercatcher +30, Mute swan 2, Shelduck +20, Black-headed gull +120, Grey heron 1.
During last weekend 2 Bean geese (an adult and a young) and 39 Whooper swans were also spotted in the Estuary, among the spectacular, endless sights of Brent geese.
