Downy Duckling Week is back at WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre this spring half term!

Come along to our famous duckery tours and meet our newly hatched fluffy ducklings and for one week only, go behind-the-scenes to our duckling nursery for a very special egg-to-duckling experience.

You can enjoy a duckery tour at Llanelli Wetland Centre from 28 May to 5 June with tours running throughout the day.

This popular, unforgettable experience gives visitors the chance to meet our tiny baby ducklings up close in the indoor duckery. You can even meet them before they hatch as we use a special process called “candling” to give you a sneak preview of baby ducklings still inside their eggs.

Richard Edwards, Grounds Manager at WWT Llanelli said:

“Downy Duckling week is a fantastic opportunity for families to go behind-the-scenes and discover more about life in the egg and our newly hatched ducklings. It’s great to see children getting closer to nature and these tours really give visitors that close encounter experience that never fails to amaze”.

As well as Downy Duckling experiences and spotting lots of different, fluffy babies toddling about there’s a whole host of other fun family activities at our centre this spring half term.

Children of all ages can enjoy hunting for creepy crawlies in our mini-beast hunt and mini-pond dipping sessions that run every morning. For those in search of their own adventure, self-guided den building is available all day where you can spend hours building a den from willow and wood. For those in search of indoor fun, head to our craft corner to try different craft workshops.

Downy Duckling experiences are included in the cost of admission and free to members. Just book on to a tour at the information desk on arrival.
