Bird News

A beautiful sunny day and a wealth of birds showing well, particularly along the reedbed walk where Reed and Sedge Warblers were especially loud and easy to locate. Reed and Corn Buntings, along with Whitethroat and Blackcap were seen by many and towards the end of the walk, where the habitat opens up in to a more agricultural area, the sound of Skylarks was constant.

On the Mere, Mediterranean Gull was again present, as were Little Ringed Plovers.

Woodend Marsh still hosting plenty of waders with Black-tailed Godwits, Ringed and Little Ringed Plovers, Avocets, Lapwings, and Redshanks.
