Ibis and Warblers

A Glossy Ibis was reported by " a member of the public" flying away from the Harrier hide early this afternoon, but no further information available.

A good variety of warblers around the reserve, with a probable Garden Warbler, as well as Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler and Blackcap from the path to the Ron Barker. A walk along the Reedbed Walk to the end of Long Hedge added  Sedge and Reed, and Grasshopper Warblers, with 2 Lesser Whitethroats singing near the sewage works, and 11 Northern Wheatears in the field just beyond.

8  'Tundra'  Ringed Plovers, 1 Little Ringed Plover, 4 Dunlin, 13 Ruff, and 3 Black-tailed Godwits were seen from the United Utilities hide, along with a pair of Common Terns.

A Little Egret was in front of the Kingfisher hide this morning, and a pair of first summer plumaged Mediterranean Gulls were on the Mere.
