A quick hide round between 0800 and 0930 produced the following species of note....

Zeiss Hide/Top New Piece

At least 5 juvenile Little Stint feeding on the (left-hand) gravel island in the SW corner of flood. Among the 1000+ Teal at least 4 Dunlin, 2 adult Spotted Redshank, 2 Greenshank and 6 Redshank could be seen. 2+ Snipe and 1 Ruff were also noted.

South Lake

Three juvenile Curlew Sandpiper, 200 Lapwing, 120 Black-tailed Godwit, 22 Redshank and 10 Ruff were among the ducks on the wader scrape. Fifteen Great Crane Project Cranes were roosting at 0930hrs.

Holden Tower

At high tide there were 4 Little Egrets and a roost of large gulls, no sign of the Spoonbill. Seven Dunlin and a Grey Plover were seen in flight and 40+ Curlew were in the roost.

Rushy Pen Hide

Work party preparing the area for the winter birds here again today. A Ruff keeps popping in and the three Little Grebe are still on Top lake
