Will you be a Wildlife Ranger this summer?

Dusty Duck is back at WWT Washington this summer and he's more adventurous than ever! Will you take up his challenge and become one of Dusty’s Wildlife Rangers?

Dusty Duck is recruiting children of all ages at WWT Washington Wetland Centre this summer to help the team in its daily mission to save wetland nature.

Would-be rangers can pick up their FREE Wildlife Ranger log book on arrival before setting off on a day of exciting discoveries while practicing hands-on skills such as spotting and surveying.

Record your findings and experiences – just like a real-life ranger – as a lasting reminder of your wild day out, before making your very own mini Wildlife Ranger to take home!

WWT Wildlife Ranger David Dinsley said: “I love being a wildlife ranger for WWT and helping to care for and protect our amazing wetlands and their animals. There’s such a huge variety of wildlife and habitats here and every day is so different.

“We thought families would enjoy the chance to experience what it’s like to be a ranger through a series of fun-packed, mini adventures, including activities that I do as part of my day-to-day job.

“Hopefully, we’ll also inspire some of our younger visitors to become the wildlife rangers of the future, helping to create a world where healthy wetland nature thrives and enriches lives.”

Dusty’s Wildlife Rangers runs across the school holidays every day from 22 July-3 September. Under-4s go free, no need to book and cost is included in admission.
