Wood Sand & Little Gull

A few new birds today in the form of a cracking juvenile Wood Sandpiper which appeared over the Mere early morning calling and then spent the rest of the day being very mobile around the site appearing to have freshly arrived. Also late afternoon a 3rd calendar year Little Gull appeared briefly on the Mere before promptly disappearing.

A sub adult Little Gull (3rd cal year) appeared on the Mere late afternoon (T. Disley)

At least 37 Ruff were on the Mere late afternoon. The 3 Barnacle Geese were seen again mid morning with the Pink-footed Geese in Plover Field.
