Common Crane

The 3rd record of Common Crane this year was the highlight of the day, unfortunately it didn't stick around long before heading off towards Southport flushing thousands of Pink feet as it went.

Upto 5000 Pink-footed Geese were using the reserve today with at least 1 Barnacle Goose and c1500 Whooper Swans are being fed daily on site. At least 18 Ruff are present along with c1000 Lapwing.

A Marsh Harrier, Kestrel Common Buzzard and juv Peregrine were the only raptors seen. Other sightings included male Brambling, Siskin and Treecreeper.
