Saving wetlands for wildlife & people

The Wetland Bird Survey

The Wetland Bird Survey is the main scheme for monitoring most wintering waterbirds in the UK. The principal aims are to identify population sizes, determine trends in numbers and distribution, and identify important sites. WeBS is a partnership between the British Trust for Ornithology, The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds and the Joint Nature Conservation Committee.

The organisation of WeBS is carried out by the British Trust for Ornithology. For further information, please contact the WeBS team at BTO.
