WWT London Wetland Centre is one of the first organisations in the country to be awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge, recognising it as a provider of quality, safely managed educational experiences for young people.

WWT London offers schools unique out of classroom learning opportunities immersed in spectacular wetland habitats.

New learning programmes are now available for

Don't forget! Thanks to sponsorship by the Mayor of London we can offer state schools in Greater London an inspiring learning session and visit absolutely FREE.

The schools' programme is also generously supported by The Berkeley Group.

Reduced rates are also offered to all other pre-booked school groups.

What the centre has to offer

Open all year round, WWT London offers pupils:

  • hands-on learning experiences led by experienced Teacher Explainers
  • minibeast safaris and pond dipping sessions
  • a safe environment in which to explore the wealth of London's wildlife

Teachers can:

  • book engaging learning sessions linked to the National Curriculum and other syllabuses
  • plan more easily by downloading a pre-prepared Risk Assessment and come in for a free preliminary visit
  • choose from our new and varied learning programmes or a request tailor-made session
  • make use of extensive downloadable learning resources
  • hire binoculars for use during the visit
  • pre-order souvenirs from the gift shop to avoid queues on the day (see form below)
  • rely on excellent on-site facilities including bag storage, picnic tables and covered lunch areas
