Martin Mere Wetland Centre caters for groups of all ages, from schools, colleges, scouts, brownies, cubs, play-schemes etc.
We offer led programmes of hands-on interactive workshops based on wetland environments and their wildlife. Programmes usually last 90 minutes.
Popular topics include: Comparing Habitats, How Birds Move (KS1), Adaptation, Food Chains and Webs, Pond Dipping, My Great Adventure (Migration). Adult price is £6.75, child up to 16 is £3.50 and a student over 16 is £5.25
New in 2008: A new full-day experience on invaders and settlers at Martin Mere through the ages. Our education programmes strongly support Science, Geography and Citizenship. This activity is for juniors at a cost of £7.50 per child (limited to 30 children).
You can spend as long as you like on site after the led activities. Explore the 500 acre nature reserve from our 10 bird watching hides, feed the captive ducks, geese and other water birds, visit the shop or explore the adventure playground.
Teachers and helpers get free entry (ratio of 1:5 for KS1 or 1:10 for KS2 to 4).
We also offer learning experiences for colleges and universities, based on Biodiversity, Environmental Management and Leisure and Tourism.
