Make your support go further
Imagine giving a few pounds of your salary each month to support WWT's work - over the course of a year your donations could make a big difference!
Payroll Giving is a simple, tax-effective way to support UK charities every time you get paid. The scheme currently raises over £85 million for a wide range of charitable causes in the UK, but it could be much bigger if more people get involved.
The great benefit of the scheme is that the donations are taken from your salary before tax is deducted, which means that you get tax relief included in your donation at your top rate of tax. In simple terms, your donations cost you less:
| Your gift to WWT (gross) | Actual cost to you @ 20% tax | Actual cost you @ 40% tax |
|---|---|---|
| £5.00 | £4.00 | £3.00 |
| £10.00 | £8.00 | £6.00 |
| £20.00 | £16.00 | £12.00 |
So for example, if you pay tax at the basic rate it will only cost you £4 to donate £5 to WWT.
Payroll Giving is important for us because the donations arrive every month like clockwork. This helps us to plan our work through the year. Your gifts could do anything from helping us manage habitats or protect rare wildlife at our centres, to supporting our work with schools or funding conservation projects in other countries.
