  • Rich in biodiversity, WWT centres have an abundance of wildlife including beautiful dragonflies who irridescent colours dazzle on bright days.
  • The ghostly barn owl is increasingly rare but thrives in the marshes and wetland habitats of our centres, especially at Welney in Norfolk.
  • In the spring time see ducklings and chicks take to the water in convoy behind their protective parents.
  • Explore our sprawling habitats by foot, canoe, Land Rover and bicycle. Each of our centres offer their own unique walking trails and forms of  transport.
  • Our centres aren't just home to birds - you can also get up close with a whole assortment of wetland mammals including our delightful otters,
  • They look tropical but we have a booming flock of pink greater flamingos at the Slimbridge Wetland Centre where more than 30 pairs live. Their early spring courtship is an eye-catching ritual of marching and wing flapping.
