Gliding through our reed beds in silent electric boats is the best opportunity in Britain to glimpse a rare water vole or see vividly-coloured kingfishers. Another prized resident is the nene, the goose saved from extinction by WWT founder Sir Peter Scott and still one of the world’s rarest water-birds. Springtime fills the valley with wildflowers and warbler songs; summer brings exciting pond-dipping discoveries; as winter starts, Bewick’s swans return and water rails emerge.

Our Visitor Centre gallery offers stunning views of Swan Lake. The Waters Edge Cafe is open until 5 pm and our Gift Shop is open until 5:30 pm.

Gift Shop Expansion

July 5 through July 23

We are expanding our gift shop inside the Visitor Centre. This expansion requires work done on the building foundations during the week of July 5-9. The resulting noise may be audible throughout the Visitor Centre, in the cafe, gallery and in the reception area. Part of the reception area will also be closed during the renovation. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The gift shop will temporarily relocate to the Kingfisher Room off the gallery in the Visitor Centre.

Donations & Commemorative Book

Making a donation to WWT Arundel Wetland Centre in the name of a loved one is a wonderful and lasting way of remembering them. We now have a beautiful Commemorative Book displayed in our Visitor Centre, and for donations totalling £200 or more you can celebrate the life of a loved one with an inscription of your choice. Crafted by professional calligraphers, your words can also be accompanied with an illustration of British Wetland wildlife (minimum donation £300). The book has a page for each day of the year, enabling you to choose the date most appropriate to your celebration and memories.

We have a finite number of spaces available for benches, plaques and trees, but regret that the opportunity to sponsor these is very limited.

However, as part of our conservation work, there are opportunities to help us develop larger projects. Please do contact us if you feel that you could support us in this way.

For further information on donations and our Commemorative Book please contact Sue Payne on 01903 881 522 or email at sue.payne@wwt.org.uk.
