Prices are shown inclusive of Gift Aid and without. The Gift Aid admission price includes a voluntary donation, which enables us to claim the tax back as part of the Government's Gift Aid scheme. For further information on Gift Aid click here.

How to find us

The National Wetland Centre Wales lies on the northern shore of the Burry Inlet facing the Gower Peninsula and is off the A484 and B4304 to Swansea. To find us follow the duck signs off the M4 exiting at junction 48.

By Bus

The Llanelli 'Dial a Ride' bus service serves the centre. The service is available during the daytime on Mondays to Saturdays but you will need to pre-book.

Bookings can be made between 9.30am and 12.00pm Monday to Friday, up to the day before the desired travel. Passengers can pre-book by phoning the call centre on 0845 634 0661. Bookings for Saturday and Monday must be made by the Friday before.

By rail

The nearest station is in Llanelli, approximately two miles away.

By coach

Parking is free for coaches bringing visitors to the centre. Advance booking is strongly recommended.

By bike

The National Wetland Centre Wales is situated on the Celtic Trail Route 4. You can also follow this link to the Sustrans National Cycle Network website for a location map and details of local cycle routes.

By car

There is ample free parking for visitors arriving by car.

Eating

The Estuary Cafe offers a delicious selection of home cooked hot and cold food, a variety of coffees and chilled drinks, and tempting home-made cakes. All can be enjoyed overlooking the beautiful Gower Peninsula and spectacular wildlife.

  • Hot food served between midday and 3pm.

Shopping

The gift shop stocks a wide range of wildlife books, outdoor clothing, bird feeders/boxes, postcards and stationery, children's gifts and souvenirs of your visit to the centre, including a unique range of products featuring the artwork of WWT founder Sir Peter Scott.

In Focus, the binocular and telescope specialists, visit the centre once a month and this is the ideal opportunity to get honest, friendly advice about buying your first pair of binoculars. For information call the centre on 01554 741087.

Terms of entry

Visitors are asked to respect the habitats and wildlife of the centre by keeping to the paths at all times and not causing undue noise. It is especially important to remain quiet in the bird viewing hides.

Photography is permitted on site providing it is for personal use only. All commercial/stock library photography must be agreed in advance with the centre and is subject to a fee.

No dogs are permitted on site, other than trained assistance dogs (i.e. guide dogs).

Accessibility

  • The centre has level access and hard-surfaced paths with tarmac on main routes (and compacted gravel on minor paths)
  • Low-level viewing windows in some of the hides
  • Free push wheelchair (1) and mobility scooter (2) available for loan. Advance booking for scooters is recommended
  • Trained assistance dogs only (i.e. guide dogs). No other dogs permitted
  • Accessible toilet in the visitor centre
  • Free car parking on site. Tarmac and gravel surface and reserved bays for disabled visitors
