A foggy start that slowly lifted towards the end of the afternoon made viewing into the distance difficult. Nevertheless a good selection birds were available to see.
Raptors included 2 Peregrine, 4 Common Buzzard, Kestrel and some close views of Sparrowhawk perched near the United Utilities Hide.
Fifteen Oystercatcher, 1000+ Lapwing, 30+ Ruff, a few each of Common Snipe and Black-tailed Godwit and a single Ringed Plover.
The drake Green-Winged Teal was reported again today. Too many wildfowl to count but noteworthy were a few Goldeneye on the mere. Stonechats also showed well today.
Fifty plus Fieldfare feeding on the field next to the Ron Barker Hide.
Don't forget that there plenty of activity around the feeding stations with Tree Sparrow, Reed Bunting, assorted finches and tits.
