Star bird of the day and perhaps month was a cracking Red Kite which flew in at 14:15 and carried on through the reserve towards the direction of Mere Sands Wood being mobbed by Carrion Crow. This large elegant raptor is not annual on the reserve but as the introduced breeding population increase and the success of the welsh birds continue we may see more of this fine species.
Male and female Peregrine again today as well as many Common Buzzard and singles of Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.
At least 50 Fieldfare still feeding near the Ron Barker Hide also 2 Redwing.
