The diggers are back! We are working to improve the grounds at WWT Slimbridge so you may encounter disruption on your visit. Please click on the link on the left hand side of this page to find out more.

The event Reptile Encounters has been moved from this week to next Sunday (21).  We apologise for any inconvenience this causes you.

Because there is always something to see and do, WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre is open 7 days a week, 364 days a year. We only close to the public on 25 December.

Winter (November to March)
9.30am to 5.00pm (last admission 4.30pm); Christmas Eve 9.30am to 3pm (last admission 2.30pm)

Summer (April to October)
9.30am to 5.30pm (last admission 5.00pm)

Canoe Safari (November 2nd - February 1st 2010) - Open during February half term!

Opening soon from February 13 to 21 for half term.  Closed for the rest of winter winter. Only open 26th, 27th December and 1st, 2nd and 3rd January (weather dependent).

Canoe Safari (March - Easter 2010)

The Canoe Safari will be running every weekend between 11am and 4pm from the start of March through to Easter.

Canoe Safari (Easter - September 2010)

The Canoe Safari will be running every day between 11am and 4pm from Easter through to September.

Welly boot land is now open to the public again with full running water.

Relax in the Water’s Edge Restaurant with its spectacular view of the Caribbean Flamingos. Enjoy a delicious selection of home made sandwiches, salads, hot meals and tempting cakes created with the very best, organic produce. Whatever time of day there is always mouthwatering treats on offer. Take a relaxing brunch with friends before exploring or watch the sun go down with a glass of wine.

The Water's Edge Restaurant can also be hired in the evening for a spectacular event.

The gift shop stocks a wide range of homewares, wildlife books, outdoor clothing, bird feeders/boxes, cards, postcards and stationery, children's gifts and souvenirs of your visit to the centre.

We sell a unique range of products featuring the artwork of WWT founder Sir Peter Scott.

Each year we hold a two day Christmas Market selling everything from local produce to handmade jewellry and artworks. Check our events page for more details.

Disabled Access

Parking

There are two rows of disabled parking spaces at WWT Slimbridge close to the main entrance ramp.

Getting around

The visitor centre and grounds have been designed to be accessible.  There are ramps up to all buildings in the grounds and the hides are also accessible (with the exception of the top floor of the Holden Tower).  Most of the paths are tarmac based.

WWT Slimbridge has a selection of wheelchairs available for free to visitors including electric ones. To ensure that you get one please ring 01453 891900 in advance of your visit.

Toilets

There are six disabled toilets at WWT Slimbridge.  Two of them are situated in the foyer and three of them are downstairs in the visitor centre (near the restaurant, the gallery and the discovery centre).  There is also a disabled toilet near the canoe safari at the back of the grounds.
