Kingfisher Sighted
The past couple of days have seen occasional sightings of a Kingfisher around the reserve, Back Pond and Teal Pond being the places to watch. It has been rather infrequent but do keep your eyes peeled if visiting. The Folly Pond is looking great for any waders passing by and the two Black-tailed Godwits are still making use of it. A Snipe has been a regular visitor in front of the Scottish Water hide. Butterfly numbers around the reserve are fantastic with an influx of Painted lady and Red Admiral, the Meadow Brown and Ringlet have also made an appearance. Swallows have now fledged in Teal Pond hide but can still be observed hunting of the Pond. Little Grebes are around, observed at Flood Ground and also Back Pond at times.
