Spider spotting, birding workshops and skull-duggery this Oct half-term

Make a magnetic bat, go spider spotting or probe the pond dip for creepy critters this half-term at Arundel Wetland Centre. Fantasy and Folklore week starts on October 22. Also this weekend the whole family can learn how tell a chiff chaff from a black cap at the Birding for Beginners workshop.

Then on October 28-30 Arundel becomes SCAREundel. “All our Halloween activities are during the day this year.’’ said Claire Drew, WWT Arundel events organiser, “ but the popular characters from last year’s Scary Side of Nature evening will be here!” Professor Bones conducts the ‘Skull-duggery’ skeleton show daily in the Sand Piper theatre. Pond dip with the Batty Biologist, create creepy crafts and ride the pirate boats, all while you wander the reserve. See the scary side of nature exhibit where myths about bats, spiders and others painted as nature’s nasties are dispelled.

Half-term activities at Arundel Wetland Centre are included in your regular paid admission. The Birding for Beginners workshop runs Oct 22 at 10-noon OR 2-4pm (£2 child, £5 adult) and can be booked by calling 01903 881530.
