Do something fun to fight climate change

If you’ve never wanted to go to a rally before, here’s a chance to be part of one that’s really fun but also really important!

WWT are part of the Climate Coalition, a group of organisations fighting climate change the only way we know how – by having more fun than by not fighting climate change!

On Wednesday 17 June, we’re converging on Westminster to tell the new government what we love most in life. Whatever it is you love most, it (or he or she!) will be affected by climate change – be it your family, your pet, your favourite food, even your football team! (As you can see from the photo, we just had to speak up for wetlands)

To get there, you can hook up with one of the coaches travelling from around the country or make your own way to Westminster. How about getting creative and making some bunting to add to the colour on the day. Loads of people will be bringing along home made bunting, so why not join in?

Things will get underway from around midday. There’ll be street performers and music. You’ll be part of a line of people snaking from the Houses of Parliament along the River Thames, arranged by constituency. The organisers are going to collar MPs coming out of the first Prime Minister’s Questions session of the new government, and transport them down the line in rickshaws!

It promises to be great fun. We’ll be there too so look out for WWT staff in our beige shirts (or blue fleeces if it’s chilly!), we’d love to meet you and say hi! More details.
