Rushy

Small numbers of Blackwit, Redshank and Ruff dropping in here through the day. The juvenile Little Ringed Plover was there again this morning and 6 Pintail were on the top pond. Check out the islands on the top pond midday for a great gathering of Pied Wagtails (23 counted) and a couple of Greys as well as groups of Goldfinch and Linnets coming into drink.

Holden Tower and Hides along walkway.

Rising water levels have drawn over 250 Teal into the Tack Piece, a Cettis and Chiffchaff were singing along the walkway. Flocks of Geese were on the Dumbles, 200 Greylag and a similar number of Barnacles with the Redbrest among them. Around 20 Golden Plover were charging around hopefully the beginning of what will be several thousand through the winter.

Great set of birds as usual from here. Shoveler, Pochard. A big flock of sleeping Blackwits and a single Avocet, over 20 Redshank with a Spotted Redshank among them a small group of 3 Dunlin and 2 Curlew Sandpiper with a third Curlew Sandpiper on its own. A scattering of Ruff and a dozen Snipe scattered around the edges of the scrape.
