Reserve Update Sunday 18th February

A wet start to the day, with the weather clearing up now. The Wetland Bird Survey takes place today, with some numbers for the inland ponds included below.
There is a large number of Pintail on the flood ground, with a good mix of both females and males. A female Gooseander was also seen feeding on the flood ground, along with lots of other duck such as Wigeon and Teal.
The female Greater Scaup is still among the Tufted Ducks on the Whooper Pond. There are a good number of Curlew around on the reserve today too.
