Senior Project Manager

About me

I have taken a long route to reach my role at WWT, but in doing so have gained valuable experience in both the public and private sectors. My previous roles have seen me working across engineering, project management, environmental management and sustainable infrastructure and after completing my MSc in Energy, Engineering and Environmental Management, I’m also a pretty handy at multitasking and juggling multiple areas of work! I am an experienced project manager, having overseen diverse teams and large budget programmes of work, and bringing these skills to WWT makes me immensely proud.

I oversee the Green Recovery Challenge Fund, Enhancing Climate Resilience on the Somerset Coast project aims to protect and enhance the Somerset coastal landscape by delivering landscape-scale interventions to create and restore habitat for biodiversity and ecosystem services, and enhance resilience to climate change.

The work centred on Steart Marshes, includes the coastal strip from the Mendips south to the town of Bridgwater including the Steart peninsula and the Doniford and Monksilver river catchments between the Quantocks and Exmoor looks to:

  • Create and restore 130ha of habitat, including priority habitats such as coastal saltmarsh and freshwater ponds.
  • Implement nature-based solutions to mitigate and adapt to climate change, through natural flood management and improved land management, helping to enhance flood resilience, improve soil and water quality, and increase carbon sequestration.
  • Connect people with nature, by engaging local stakeholders (eg. landowners, students) in wetland conservation through community events, volunteering and citizen science.
