To help keep us all safe we’re temporarily stopping these activities, while we take precautions against coronavirus. Please check our latest statement and centre social sites for updates.
As well as a packed schedule of activities and events, we have a couple of regular talks taking place every day.
Head over to the Iceland Lake Pen at 2pm daily to watch our diving ducks feed on fish. It's always entertaining to watch our resident divers showing off their fishing skills in the clear chalk-fed waters! Lasts approximately 10 minutes.
The Wetland Discovery boat safari is free and trips last 15-20 minutes. On your journey a driver will identify and point out the wildlife, plants, fish and insects all around you.
The boat takes you through the wet meadow, which has highest diversity of plant species on the reserve, then onto the woodland carr, which is full of water loving willows and black poplar.
The back section of Wetlands Discovery is the reed bed, the best place to see and hear water voles crunching on shoots.
The boat safari runs rain or shine, 11.00am - 3:30pm in winter or 11.00am - 4:30pm in the summer, on every day except Christmas (although trips may be cancelled in very icy conditions). Each boat holds 8-9 people and the boats are accessible for non-motorized wheelchairs.
Life jackets are available, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
