Peregrines out on the Merses

Peregrine Falcons have been a regular sighting out on the Merses this week, the numerous pieces of driftwood washed in by the tides providing ideal perches for them. They are not the only raptors to have been seen. A Merlin and Hen Harrier were both observed down at Avenue Tower, a Kestrel over the rough pasture at Saltcot and a Sparrowhawk bombing through the Peter Scott Trail. Waders have been dropping into Folly Pond with up to 26 Black Tailed Godwit there this week, together with Redshank.

Please be aware that due to ongoing Coronavirus restrictions we have a limit to the numbers of visitors we can accommodate on the Reserve. To avoid disappointment we advise visitors, including Members, to book online before arrival. Booking can be done via the Caerlaverock website https://www.wwt.org.uk/wetland-centres/caerlaveroc...
