Roe Deer in the Sun

Roe Deer have been very evident around the reserve the past week with up to 8 individuals seen in just one section of Merse alone. This morning a couple were sauntering across the fields down near Avenue Tower. They have not been the only species of mammal around. Yesterday morning a fox decided to chance its luck catching a Wigeon on the Whooper Pond, springing up over the banking. It was unsuccessful this time and it was very interesting to watch the behaviour of the wildfowl on the pond, all flocking towards the predator. To learn more about this behaviour please see information on the Slimbridge Duck Decoy https://www.wwt.org.uk/wetland-centres/slimbridge/...
