Yellowhammers, Treecreepers and Linnets

The first couple of Yellowhammers of the Autumn were seen yesterday in the hedgerow outside the Peter Scott Observatory. Small bird activity down the Avenues has been good recently with regular appearances of Treecreepers down towards Avenue Tower and Linnets flying over the Saltcot Loaning. Tree Sparrows are still coming into the feeders in the Peter Scott Observatory. Seven Little Egrets were out on the Merse this morning along with a number of Roe Deer. Goldeneye is still on Whooper Pond, Hen Harrier still about and Redwings and Fieldfares gorging on Hawthorn berries.

Please be aware that due to ongoing Coronavirus restrictions we have a limit to the numbers of visitors we can accommodate on the Reserve. To avoid disappointment we advise visitors, including Members, to book online before arrival. Booking can be done via the Caerlaverock website https://www.wwt.org.uk/wetland-centres/caerlaveroc...
