Celebration of Spring

As presented by emerging local artist, David Campbell

Saturday 3 March - Sunday 25 March

Born in Newtownards in 1989, David Campbell works from his studio in Bangor. His key influences include Basil Blackshaw, Seraphine Louis, Mark Rothko, and Neil Shawcross.

David works in oil and mixed media in an abstract expressionist style to capture the atmosphere and mood invoked by the Irish landscape. David also expresses his Christian faith through the medium of his art. In ‘Celebration of Spring’ David combines these two passions presenting a wide range of Irish landscapes alongside paintings with an Easter theme.

He won the art prize in his final year at Strangford Integrated College. Having attended the South Eastern Regional College, where he studied Art & Design, David went on to achieve a BA Honours in Fine Art 2:1 from the University of Ulster.

David has previously exhibited at the University of Ulster, Bangor Castle Museum and Castle Espie.

'Celebration of Spring' is being launched at Castle Espie on Saturday 3 March, 2-4pm.
