GIANT LEGO® Brick Animal Trail & Workshops - Cancelled

Date: Sat 16 May - Sun 28 June

This event has been cancelled. In order to keep us all safe, we’ve taken the difficult decision to cancel all our events running before 1st July 2020. Please see our FAQs for more information. The below information is for reference only.

The fourteen LEGO brick models have been exclusively designed for WWT to showcase beautiful wetland animals. Sculptures include a large North American River Otter, a Hawaiian Goose (the world’s rarest goose!), a giant Kingfisher, frog and a flamingo, plus new models that include a white stork, an owl and a water vole. In total, a whopping 253,728 LEGO bricks were used to make all 14 wetland characters, which took a massive 1,561 hours to make!

Pick up your tail card when you arrive and explore our amazing wetlands to find all 14 figures. When you've found them all, head to the information desk to collect your sticker!

During your visit to Martin Mere, there's loads of additional activities for the whole family. There's a daily schedule of species spotlight talks where you can find out more about some of the amazing animals we have here. For those looking for an extra adventure, head over to our canoe safari area where you can hire a canoe or go on a relaxing boat tour - it's a brilliant way to explore part of our centre that's not accessible on foot. And don't forget to check out our craft room - get creative with a variety of family-friendly crafts.

A trip to Martin Mere is a great day out for all the family!

Book a workshop

As well as the trail, take part in our unique and popular hour-long, interactive LEGO brick workshops - perfect for LEGO fans young and old!

During the hour, you'll take part in three exciting challenges. At the start you will be divided into two teams and will be racing to build LEGO brick ducklings against the clock to help reunite mummy duck with her ducklings.

Next, you’ll build a vehicle for a wildlife ranger mini-figure to go on a 'wetland wildlife safari' - how far will yours travel?

Finally, you’ll be building your very own model to take home with you at the end.

With just 16 participants in each class, there’s lots of one-to-one support from the course leader. Workshop places are limited - book yours today to avoid disappointment!
