Home Educators - How and Why do we Monitor Birds?
Thu 30 November
WWT Slimbridge is offering a great opportunity for home educators to come and learn with us throughout 2017. Our programmes offer your child(ren) a chance to develop a lasting connection with wetlands through hands-on enquiry based learning.
How and Why do we Monitor Birds? - Thursday 30 November 2017 (10:30am - 12:30pm)
We will become conservationists and monitor winter bird numbers and behaviour here at WWT Slimbridge. We’ll then think about what the wildlife can tell us about the habitat when we monitor them and what it really takes to conserve a species. This will be followed up with a craft to solidify learning.
There are two age group sessions 4 – 7 year olds and 8 – 11 year olds.
The cost for entry and the morning session will be £6.20 per child and one adult per family free, any additional adults will be charged the general admission rate of £11.10 (sadly we are unable to accept membership cards as this is a special event).
If you wish to bring children under the age of 4 years to particpate in the craft activity, there is a charge of £3.10 per child.
Please bring along a camera, iPad or camera phone so that we can take photos as part of the monitoring process.
Due to popularity of these sessions we are requesting payment in advance. Places are limited.
