VIP Duckery Experiences - Spring to Life Exclusive

Join our expert aviculture team on a guided behind-the-scenes tour of our working Duckery. See the whole egg-to-duckling process, watch chipping eggs in anticipation and meet newly hatched ducklings and goslings, including some of the rarest breeds on earth. Take part in the fascinating practice of 'candling' (where a light is used to look inside an egg) and learn all about WWT’s conservation breeding programmes, which sees us rear hundreds of young birds each year and of course see tiny ducklings and goslings take their first wobbly steps in the outdoor pens.

Tickets for the 1 hour VIP Duckery Experiences are £2.50 per person (same price for children and adults). Non-members will also need to buy admission to Slimbridge centre, in addition to the VIP Duckery Experience ticket. This includes a full day's access to the centre and grounds with other May half-term holiday activities (open 9.30am to 5.30pm). Save 10% when you book your admission online. Members do not need to pay for admission on top of the VIP Duckery Experience ticket.

There are limited places, with only 5 VIP Duckery Experiences per day, so book now to avoid disappointment on the day.

Places are limited to 20 people per experience.

Terms and Conditions

  • This ticket is for a VIP Duckery Experience session.

  • We regret we cannot extend our free entry for under 4s for this event as there are very limited places on the VIP Duckery Experiences. However, if your child is 18months or under and you are happy to carry them throughout they can come free of charge. Please email us to flag this up in advance (on info.slimbridge@wwt.org.uk). All buggies must be left in the centre as there is limited room in the Duckery. No admission fee to the centre required to Under 4’s.

  • All tickets to this event are non-refundable and can only be redeemed on the day of your booking.

  • Payment must be made at time of booking.

  • If, for any reason, you are unable to attend an event on the date you have booked, at least 21 days’ notice must be given in order for us to transfer you to an equivalent event.

  • If the event you are transferring to differs in price, the difference will either need to be paid by you at the time of transfer or refunded to you.

  • Late cancellations (less than 21 days in advance of the event) would require the vacant space to be filled by another paying customer before we are able to transfer you to a different date. In the event that a replacement attendee cannot be found, monies would be lost.

  • Please arrive around 10 minutes before the start of your event (unless otherwise stated on the event page). In some instances late arrival may result in the loss of a place. If you’re able to contact us to let us know that you will be late, please do so, so that we can do our best to accommodate you.

  • WWT Slimbridge reserves the right to cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances, including low numbers or inclement weather etc. In these instances we would contact you at the earliest opportunity and you would be offered the choice of a space on an equivalent event (where available) or a full refund.

  • We recommend supplying us with more than one contact detail, specifically a mobile number, so that we are able to contact you if necessary.

  • To help protect our birds from bacteria and illness you may be asked to step on disinfectant mats when entering/exiting the duckery - please wear appropriate footwear to do so.
