News from the otter holt

Posted on 21 Jan 2019

During his annual health check in December, an X-ray showed that he has a bladder stone, so we’ve made the decision to remove it during a small procedure on Wednesday 23 January. He’ll then need to be kept in his own off-show enclosure to recover for about a week.

Although Musa hasn’t been visibly troubled by the stone, we want to make sure that he doesn’t suffer from it in the future. We’ll be giving him lots of care and will make sure that wife Mimi and son Buster have lots of extra love and attention too, as it’s only natural for them to miss him and fret a little.

As soon as he’s sufficiently back on his feet, he’ll return to his family.
